Looking like a design magazine’s idea of a villa on the Mediterranean, this boutique hotel was created from an old house in the center of Marbella’s venerable Casco Antiguo, or old quarter. The walls were re-stuccoed and whitewashed and the tile floors re-laid, and it now gleams like a brand new hotel. The architecture helps make the experience, and you’ll find yourself spending as much time as possible on the roof terrace at the beginning and end of the day (it’s too hot at midday). Views from the terrace stretch over the jumble of Old Town rooftops down to the boardwalk on the beach, a 10-minute walk away.
