This 17th-century hôtel particulier (former private mansion) organizes an outstanding modern art show. The museum houses a permanent collection, particularly strong on masterpieces (by Picasso, Dufy, de Staël, Ernst, and others) created during the first half of the 20th century. Many of the canvases, like Entrée du Port de Marseille by Paul Signac and Le port de Marseille by Oskar Kokoschka showcase city life a century ago.
