Atria/Brick Cellar Bar
Many of the Vineyard’s fanciest restaurants, including Atria, also have a more casual dining area (and less expensive menu). The Brick Cellar Bar here, with live music, bumper pool, and fish tanks, has perhaps the Vineyard’s best burger menu, from the PETA (vegetarian, with a marinated Portobello) to the Atria classic, with cheddar, sautéed onions, mushrooms, apple-smoked bacon and béarnaise sauce. The pleasures of the bar cannot be overstated, but upstairs, the main dining room offers the more lauded experience. Traditional surf-and-turf is turned on its head with Georges Bank scallops and red wine–braised short ribs. A 2-pound lobster is wok-fired and served with whipped potatoes. It’s all delicious.
