Partly dug out of a cave and opening to a bright square in Sasso Barisano, this restaurant is a refined setting for cooking that wholeheartedly presents the best of local cuisine. You will be encouraged to have a full meal, and it would be a shame not to do so. Try the orecchiette al tegamino, ear-shaped pasta baked with ham, cheese, and tomatoes, or any of the local pastas, then move on to the house specialty, expertly grilled meat. Even the house-baked bread, pane di Matera, is delicious.
