The world’s largest collection of breadfruit trees—a staple food for Pacific islanders—thrives here. The garden has some 130 distinct varieties gathered from 20 tropical island groups. You’ll also view a Canoe Garden, filled with the many useful plants that the early Polynesian settlers brought to Hawai‘i: sugar cane, banana, sweet potato, taro, and paper mulberry (used to make kapa cloth).
