Another outpost of the T S Restaurants empire, Leilani’s showcases sustainable seafood and local produce, sourcing from some 40 Maui farms. Try the taro hummus with Kumu Farms crudités and taro chips or the ahi poke with avocado for starters, and for a main, the lemongrass miso-glazed salmon with chilled noodle salad or citrus-soy glazed huli huli (barbecued) chicken with pork char sui fried rice. The Beachside Grill—with tables just off Kaanapali Beach—features a separate, more casual menu. Here you can people-watch while snacking on Cajun-rubbed fish tacos or a Korean fried chicken sandwich and tossing back a hibiscus Paloma. In lieu of T S’ trademark hula pie, finish with the lighter but still satisfying passionfruit Pono Pie made with Hana breadfruit, Kula strawberries, and gluten-free nut crust.
