A 15-minute walk from Poblado metro, close to lots of shops and bars, Diez works hard to create a sense of place. Each floor is themed according to a different region of Colombia, and the hotel’s inviting public spaces are decorated with lashings of bamboo, exotic hardwoods, bright monochrome furniture, and artisanal flourishes. Modern, if rather sparse, angular rooms aren’t big on character, but they are clean, comfortable, and well maintained with spacious modern bathrooms. It’s worth paying up for a room with a city view. Noise can be a problem here, so if that’s important to you, ask for a quiet room at check in. For onsite pampering, there’s a spa, a hot tub on the terrace, and two very good restaurants (sushi and traditional Colombian). Service is friendly and brisk.
