If you're going to go to Memphis, you must visit at least one bar on Beale Street—sure, Beale Street is touristy and loud, but it's also a blast and chock-full of history. And if you're only going to visit on bar, make it B.B. King's. It's a mini chain now, but this Memphis outpost was the original. Because of the prestige of the name behind it, B.B. King's attracts a decent level of talent—Sheryl Crow was a recent guest for the price of a $5 cover—and it has one of the best house bands in town. There's a Cajun restaurant on the third floor named for B. B.'s Mississippi hometown, Itta Betta.
