YAD definitely serves food, mostly of the battered-and-fried, smothered-and-covered variety (think: fried pickles, fried mushrooms, onion rings), with lots of sloppy sandwiches and lots of high-calorie plates of its award-winning fries. That said, it's most revered for its live music, which attract the young and old, the black and white, the hipster and yuppie. Great selection of beer, too. Wednesday pint nights mean select beers (e.g. Sam Adams, Lagunitas) are $3.
