At this coffee shop with attitude, the motto "Grind and Unwind" is painted boldly on an interior wall. On top of brewing up some of the best coffee drinks in town—the Thin Mint Latte is awfully good—Tamp & Tap also encourages day drinking (who doesn't love that?) via the craft beer on tap from the four local breweries (Wiseacre, High Cotton, Memphis Made, and Ghost River) as well as Nashville's Yazoo Brewing Company. Even more fun are the vintage Nintendo consoles in the back and the smattering of board games. The weekend Bluegrass Brunch—from 9am to 3pm on Saturday and Sunday—features a fanciful menu of French toast, pumpkin waffles, frittatas, egg sandwiches, crawfish mac and cheese, and the like. More basic breakfast foods, salads, and sandwiches are available every day.
