We are admittedly not blessed when it comes to good comida mexicana in Miami, but I do love me the food (especially its “surfer-style” fish tacos with spicy ranch dressing), the breezy vibe, and the prices at this “healthy burrito shop,” founded by local entrepreneur John Kunkel in 2004 (“healthy” being relative, of course, fresh, low-carb ingredients notwithstanding). You can go classic or get fancy with the likes of an avocado bacon quesadilla. And they’ll do veg versions of everything on the menu. You eat to a club-like soundtrack in a covered outdoor patio, and you never know who might show up—Madonna and Miami Heat guard Dwayne Wade have done so in the past. There are no longer lines out the door, but the formula here has become such a hit that that locations have opened not only downtown, in Midtown, Dadeland, and North Miami Beach (see the website for addresses), but also as far afield as Alabama, Ohio, and—I kid you not—Santiago, Chile.
