Inn at Twaalfskill

Tucked into a leafy residential neighborhood, this sweet little B&Bs has flowering gardens, old oak trees, a flowing brook (that lends the inn its name), and a very relaxed attitude. The handsomely renovated 1902 house has just three guest rooms, but they are tastefully and luxuriously decorated with plush bedding and linens and high-quality bath products. The fresh-baked breakfast is served in the conservatory, and the Adirondack chairs on the wide porch are a great spot to relax with a book. Best of all, the inn is less than a mile from the Hudson River, and just across the bridge to Poughkeepsie, placing it within very easy reach of the great estates on the other side of the river.
