Getting There
By Bus & Grand Taxi -- The bus station sits in the center of town, with grands taxis parked 100m (330 ft.) to the south. CTM and private companies operate services from Casablanca (8 hr.; 135dh-150dh), Erfoud (4 1/2 hr.; 75dh), Er Rachidia (3 hr.; 50dh-70dh), Fes (5 hr.; 105dh), Meknes (5 hr.; 70dh-90dh), and Rabat (7 hr.; 105dh-120dh).
Grands taxis depart throughout the day from Er Rachidia (2 hr.; 50dh), Fes (4 hr.; 80dh), Ifrane (3hr.; 80dh), and Meknes (4 hr.; 80dh).
Town Layout
Midelt is almost a one-road town. The main road from either the Middle Atlas (Fes, Meknes, Azrou) or the High Atlas (Er Rachidia) splits into avenue Mohammed V and avenue Moulay Abdellah between the bus station and the grand taxi station before rejoining again and heading out of town.
Fast Facts
A branch of Banque Populaire can be found 50m (164 ft.) north of the bus station on the main road heading to the Middle Atlas. There is also a BMCI branch across from the grand taxi station. Both branches are open Monday to Friday 8:15am to 3:45pm.
The post office is located south of the grand taxi station, 1 block back from the main Midelt-Er Rachidia road. Across the road from the grand taxi station is Pharmacie la Cascade, open daily 8:30am to 8pm. Cyber Cascade Internet cafe is above the Cascade Cafe on the roundabout at the bus station.
