Located steps from where “The Last Supper” hangs in Santa Maria delle Grazie church, this lovely albergo in a 19th-century building is centered around a surprisingly tranquil courtyard garden. It’s like stepping into a family home; the rooms have been extensively revamped but retain a wonderfully traditional feel, with heavy antique headboards and dressers, gilt mirrors, and elegant draperies. Fortunately, bathrooms have been brought into the 21st century, but the cozy lounge and breakfast room remain delightfully of a former age. The more expensive courtyard-facing rooms, many with tiny wrought-iron balconies, are buffered from the late-night noise on Corso Magenta.
