One of Milan’s more outré institutions, Plastic is surprisingly edgy and out-there for such a conservative city. The club plays host to all persuasions—straight, gay, bisexual, drag queens, and trans people—as well as a host of eccentric clubbing hangers-on. DJs play house, jungle, and trashy retro-Euro pop on two floors swathed in chandeliers and glitter balls. Saturday night's eye-opening baroque House of Bordello sees ritzy cross-dressers and divas belt out tunes to merrymakers of all ages and genders, who sing along with a scant regard for their bella figura .
