Ignore the name. This is a genuine restaurant, down to the masterfully cooked seafood and the decorative plates it's served on. Yes, you can come here for just a quick snack and drink, and that's something that beer lovers certainly do, as Mateo's has over 135 different varieties of suds on sale (more than any other place in the Peloponnese) and the views from here are lovely. But those who stay for a meal are rewarded with such sophisticated fare as grilled octopus in wine sauce, smoked eel and excellent saganaki. Final plus: Mateo, the owner, who is a delightful felow. He'll make you feel right at home and many people hang out here for hours (though the free Wi–Fi may also play into that).
