One of the great downtown hotel options for families, especially on weekends when business travelers have cleared out and the prices are often lower. Rooms here are big with high ceilings, thanks to the building’s previous life as a warehouse, and some have dramatic columns and arches, also remnants from its previous incarnation. Even the smallest of rooms are decent-sized studios, with the bed separated from the living area. There’s an indoor rooftop pool and a laundry room, and every unit has a full kitchen including a large fridge and stove. The staff has been getting raves from customers for years for their helpfulness, particularly for visiting families. The warehouse walls are also handy for muffling the noise: rooms here are close to a lot of action (both the busy shopping street rue Ste-Catherine and the Quartier des Spectacles arts district are around the corner), but seem to be totally insulated from it. It’s exactly what you want on a holiday.
