This new restaurant from chef Normand Laprise of the city’s top restaurant, Toqué!, is fun, flirty, adventurous, and romantic; it wows us at every turn. Its location, in a unique all-glass box perched on a sidewalk in the city’s newly renovated fine-arts neighborhood, the Quartier des Spectacles, is right in front of the Musée d’Art Contemporain de Montréal. The food is spectacular: We love the garlic sea snails, pan-seared foie gras with candied fennel, strawberries, and popcorn, and the saucisse de Montréal (sausage) with quinoa salad. You can make a creative meal out of just the appetizers, charcuteries, and tartares. At night in warm months, a pool of water alongside the restaurant and the length of a city block has a “dancing waters” lightshow. The restaurant is extremely popular, so make reservations.
