It’s not about the food, exactly, at this amiable cafe—though it is quite tasty. Through rain, sleet, or shine, students, older couples, and families gather under the wrap-around awning to sip coffee and people watch. In summer, there are bowls of gazpacho and crisp pours of white wine. In winter, there’s grilled steak and Cabernet at the indoor counter. A group of actors could be crammed into a corner, talking shop, or it could just as easily be politicians or bankers. Brunch is especially busy though some tables stay full long after dark. For a charming bistro atmosphere, especially in fair weather, it’s a keeper.
