Seafood’s profile gets bumped up another few notches on Montréal’s map with Le Filet, which opened in 2011. Let the menu’s categories of Raw, Warm Tide, Amphibians, and Earthly add an air of intrigue since there really is no wrong choice. Oysters are creatively garnished with yuzu marmalade or jalapeno and maple cracker. The half lobster comes with a luscious, buttery Hollandaise with the surprising addition of silky-smooth sea urchin in the sauce. Plates are small and meant to be shared (order at least two per person) and the pasta is homemade. Fans of Le Club Chasse et Pêche restaurant, take note: the same team is in charge here and thus there are also game meat options. Seats on the terrace have a view of Parc Jeanne-Mance. Reservations are recommended.
