Founded in 1919, this huge indoor-outdoor museum houses the biggest collection of Soviet weapons in the world. Rifles, spyware, tanks, MiG jet fighters, ballistic missiles, and rockets are all on display, either behind glass or parked in a courtyard. The exhibits show off Soviet, and now Russian, military might, and function in part as propaganda, concentrating on the Soviet Union's role in winning World War II, for instance, as well as Russia's victories in the Afghanistan and Chechen conflicts. Note that admission must be paid in cash.
