Once this massive redbrick complex produced Russia's famed Red October chocolate, but now it's given over to art galleries, cafés and restaurants, office space for trendy companies, and some of Moscow's hottest clubs. Red October, which occupies half of an island in the middle of the Moscow River, can be reach by a scenic walk across a pedestrian bridge from the Christ the Savior Church. The Red October amounts to an open-air museum, with interesting architecture and many art galleries that often exhibit works by some of Russia's hottest artists.
