Take in a night of classical music at the Moscow Conservatory, the best spot in Moscow for classical music by Russian and international performers. This is the second-oldest conservatory in Russia (after St. Petersburg's), and it's now the top music school in the country. Current faculty includes the world-renowned violist Yuri Bashmet, and among its graduates are such greats as the pianist and composer Sergei Rachmaninoff and the cellist Mstislav Rostropovich. The concerts take place in a historic mansion where Tchaikovsky and others taught the next generations of musicians.
