The dinner menu is more interesting, but since you’re on a day trip through the Gorge, lunch is probably what you’ll have at this upscale and upbeat Hood River restaurant (but note that lunch is only served weekends, from Friday to Sunday). It’s the best place to eat in the Gorge, with a stylish, design-conscious, lots-of-wood interior that evokes a lodge-y Northwest scene. Menus change often, but lunch offerings of locally sourced food typically include a selection of sandwiches: oyster po’ boy, pulled pork, barbecued steak, or a Mediterranean vegetarian wrap. There’s a good burger, too. Some of the produce is foraged locally, so look for dishes with freshly picked forest mushrooms or greens. There’s a good wine and beer list to accompany your meal.
