Crystal Paradise Resort
Beloved by birders, the Crystal Paradise is run by the Tut family, native Belizeans who provide a very warm welcome and expert birding tours. But even non-birders will enjoy this homey resort, with its well-spaced, thatched roof cottages, its deep-in-the-jungle setting and its on-site restaurant, where all of the hearty, fresh meals are served family style. All rooms have high ceilings, comfortable beds and ceiling fans. A host of tours are offered, and the in-house guides—most of them family members—are excellent. The restaurant serves wonderful Belizean cuisine, and there’s always a convivial vibe in the open-air dining room, bar, and lounge areas. The resort is located on the road to Mountain Pine Ridge, near little Cristo Rey Village.
