A great place to know about for a quick lunch in Downpatrick, this funky cafe is a favorite of locals. It specializes in creative and tasty sandwiches, which go down nicely with a cup of fresh coffee if you can forgive the atrociously punning names (“Buy One Get One Brie” “Pitta Pocket or Two”—you get the idea.) Try the Daily Grind Special, a delicious salad served with toast and chili jam. It also does tempting cakes and gateaux. The cafe closes at a disappointingly early 3:30pm, however—you may want to have that afternoon treat a little early.
