This is Europe's largest filmmaking center. Production was begun here as early as 1920. In the 1970s, Fassbinder, Wim Wenders, and Herzog worked here; Stanley Kubrick shot his interiors for Paths of Glory; and Bob Fosse produced Cabaret. Tours take you through the sets of famous films like Das Boot and The Neverending Story, and you can watch films on the Showscan, a superwide movie screen. Children enjoy the Action Show, a demonstration of movie stunts.
