Artsy cafe, replete with jazz music, ambient light, and the work of local painters displayed throughout (and for sale). Eat in one of six themed areas, from the elegant main room or Old Victorian Gallery, to the cozy Lion’s Den with comfy lounge chairs, or snug Hideaway with its giant hanging sculpture. The food is Mediterranean-inspired but rich in local ingredients: scallop cakes, filet mignon, and rack of lamb, served with garlic-roasted cauliflower, ginger-scented basmati rice, cashews, and fenugreek-cream curry sauce. Having said that, Collectors is getting a reputation as a spot for tasty desserts and coffee these days, rather than a full meal. It’s all incredibly addictive: the tiramisu, the peanut butter mousse pie, or the Key lime pie are top choices.
