Several miles from the pounding surf of the Atlantic, this pedestrian-oriented outdoor mall offers tall palms, lots of free parking, and over 70 stores, including Chico's, Tommy Bahama, and Anthropologie. Upscale chic is the scene and you'll find lots of retirees strolling about and moms with children hanging out at Starbucks. The Commons is a good place to spend a few hours decompressing from a day at the beach and the landscaping is quite nice, which provides a bit of a bonus. The on-site free activities are the real draw, including complimentary horse and carriage rides, the Deville Street Farmers Market (May to October Saturdays from 10am to 2pm), live bands on Thursday nights, and "Movies Under the Stars" starting around 9pm every Friday during the summer.
