Set in a converted factory, the Amphitryon has a contemporary look to it, with sleek lines, flatscreen TV's and teakwood decks  off most of the guest rooms. The public spaces, too, are chic yet welcoming; the lounge is one of the city’s best night spots. That being said, we wish the owners had taken comfort into account more: the furniture often looks good, but isn't that fun to sit on or use. And those rooms that are off the road get a lot of traffic noise (ask to be moved if you're a light sleeper). That being said, the location is a good one, with the Old Town just steps away, as is the elevator that ascends to the Nafplia Palace, a related property where guests have use of the pool and gardens.
