A longtime contender for the honor of most romantic restaurant on Nantucket, this place maintains its special qualities year after year. You enter its little red building from the tree-shaded sidewalk while candles flicker and a harpist performs classical music. There’s just one three-course, fixed-price menu every night, so that everyone is served the same dishes and it feels a bit like a private dinner party. You check the menus in advance to be sure they are serving something you want. For example, it might be grilled shrimp; beef Wellington and, for dessert, vanilla panna cotta. Monday’s single seating always includes lobster four ways (bisque, salad, steamed, and grilled).
