North of downtown, right where the atmosphere changes from town to country, this beloved Italian restaurant delivers good-time vibes whether you sit inside the huge bright dining room, on the wrap-around terrace, or at the bar (one of the friendliest around). It’s good for practically any occasion, from date night to family gatherings to business lunches. (It’s also open lunch through dinner, so you can eat at off times if you like.) The pizza and house-made pasta are undeniably delicious, but I’m always seduced by the beet-and-haricot-vert salad and seared salmon with buttermilk mashed potatoes and chive butter. The best part? While there are seasonal changes, most of the menu stays the same—whatever you fall in love with on this trip, you’ll likely be able to enjoy again next time you visit.
