This opulent Mediterranean-style resort, one of Florida’s finest, has received a much-needed, two-year refurbishment that added a stunning, airy, modern new lobby, a champagne bar and 3 new restaurants (making a total of 7 here). All 474 guest rooms have been updated with, wait for it, coastal décor, but it’s really the views that stand out here. A revamped pool area includes a new family-friendly pool, adults only pool, lap pool, and hot tub. Private poolside bungalows have their own baths and service bars, and cabanas have TVs and fans. And then there’s the beach. You have to walk through a narrow mangrove forest to reach the sands, and beach here is part of a public park, but hotel staff is out there to answer phones, deliver drinks and snacks, and rent cabanas, boats, and other toys (only towels, chairs, and ice water are complimentary). There’s a 51,000 square-foot spa with long list of services and treatments and a huge gym. Guests here can play the golf course and tennis courts and use the other amenities at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort Naples, Tiburón. As with the Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami, this one has a “photography concierge” to help conduct family photo shoots.
