With three locations to chose from, including one on Broadway near the Ryman Auditorium, there's no excuse not to try Jack Cawthon's, arguably Nashville's most celebrated barbecue. Head toward the sign with three flying pigs, and you'll soon find yourself with a plate of delicious smoked meat—beef brisket's a favorite—all flavored with your choice of award-winning, piquant sauces. Jack's pulls from a variety of barbecue styles, so diners with regional preferences will find something to their liking, along with some tasty sides such as baked beans, cole slaw, and macaroni and cheese. (If you don't want to put up with the parking headache that often comes with venturing to Lower Broadway, go instead to the newest Cawthon's, at 1601 Charlotte Avenue.)
