Yes, Luna is located in a shopping mall, but if you can get past its unfortunate location, this is truly one of the top restaurants in town. (The terrace offers unparalleled evening views of the old city, so the address has its benefits.) Serving excellent renditions of traditional Galilean salads, meat dishes, and mezze, this woman-owned restaurant has something delicious for everyone at the table: vegan maqqluba (a one-pot rice and vegetable dish which is dramatically turned upside-down from individually portioned pots, tableside), shushbarak (lamp dumplings in a yogurt sauce), and a kids’ menu. For dessert don’t skip the halva knafeh, a pastry made with delicate and toasted kataifi noodles, which is Luna’s signature take on this sweet treat usually made with cheese.
