This adults-only destination spa and wellness center—with 18 thatched-roof stone cottages and curvaceous stone walls carving out patios and nooks—opened in 2011 on two acres of clifftop real estate on West End Road. The goal was to fit into the surroundings, not supplant them—no building is higher than the tallest palm tree—and to create a haven for relaxation. To that end (except in the Bridal Suite) there are no TVs, telephones, or radios in the airy, tropical-modern rooms—though there is free Wi-Fi, and guests are provided with free local cell phones.

The prettiest accommodations are the seaside cottages and the upstairs “garden rooftop” cottages for their high, peaked wood ceilings. Just make sure you book an outdoor sunset massage at least once (that prime time slot fills up fast). The Blue Mahoe restaurant features sea views and organic Jamaican food.
