This beautifully preserved 1834 Greek Revival home was only owned by one family (who had a nearby sugar plantation). Eighty-five percent of the contents are original to the house, and its history is well documented, which is unusual for plantation and old-home tours around here. The informative and practical tour gives a lot of specific detail about the family and their lives, particularly about life back during the heyday of such places, and what it took to support such a place. They even have photos of the property dating from 1870. The well-done visitor center has even more belongings on display.
