Great location (especially for Jazz Fest–goers), friendly host, clean and unfussy rooms with kitchenettes: all good. The exterior looks fittingly New Orleanian, with tall columns and wide double galleries, and its mint-green color hints at the hotel’s beachy vibe (aqua, and laidback). Rooms vary in size and configuration, from a tiny single to a multi-bedroom. The gorgeous back courtyard is event-ready, which may or may not work to your benefit (if a crawfish boil is on, you’re probably invited; if a wedding is on—which is often—there’s a party in your yard). Other amenities are scant, so don’t expect to be doted on, but the on-site innkeeper is accessible and the price is surely right.
