It's hard to believe this club was totally renovated a few years ago. The 1883 building maintained the quirky, elegant decay suitable to the laid-back, Marlboro-loving clientele in this tiny dive. The jukebox feeds the idiosyncratic vibe with mood-enhancing selections from the Velvet Underground, Dusty Springfield, and Curtis Mayfield. Up-and-comers play the eponymous round alcove (about as big as your family dinner table) at happy hour; good local musicians start thinking about playing at 10pm nightly.
