You can find this chain club elsewhere and you can find authentic (vs. ersatz) folk-art-laden roadhouses within a few miles (hello, Tipitina’s). It’s lost its domineering booking muscle to other venues but when there is something worthy (Gaga and Gary Clark, Jr., have played here recently), the sightlines are good and the regionalized food is decent. We quite like the lesser-used non-main rooms: The upstairs Parish feels inviting and real; the courtyard is lovely and actually is real.
