The beautiful, high-end confections at these stylish cafes—sherbet-hued macarons, gold-dusted chocolates—are ideal for an afternoon indulgence or gifts (they’re as pretty as they are pricey, and not overly sweet, so opinions vary from bland to brilliant). But we’re partial to the minicakes, like the luscious “Tiffany.” The gorgeous inside-and-out French Quarter location has a high-level coffee program (with a swank Modbar system) and upstairs cafe Salon serving high tea, wine, and brunch (Thurs–Mon 10am–7pm). The balcony is perfect for sipping.
