Just like the city, this place is so nice they named it twice. A Red Roof Inn before 2012, it was originally converted from an office building, meaning rooms come in all shapes and sizes. So a very small standard room might cost the same as a much larger one (ask to switch rooms if you’re not pleased with the first one you get). That being said, even the smaller rooms have such a smart design, they feel adequately large. Such perks as a free continental breakfast; free Wi-Fi; free calls within the U.S.; an oversized gym (with multiple treadmills and elliptical machines, so there should be no waiting); concierge; and central location also make NYMA a particularly good value, considering the price (which ranges from $179–$279 most nights).
