Will wonders never cease? The weary, old Milford Plaza Hotel has not only gotten a new name, it’s been flipped. And that doesn’t mean the staff has gone nuts. Highgate Hotels stepped in and gave it a thorough makeover. Today, when you check in, no longer does a tiny room with chipped and aged furniture await you. Now, your tiny room (well, they couldn’t move walls) has a jaunty look, with a fresh white duvet on the bed, two curtains in front of the window (one for daytime and one for night), and a cheery tangerine-colored wall. Alas, prices seem to be rising, too, though it still is possible, on some nights, to catch 40 winks here for just $131. Some nights.
