Sexy and big: That’s always a good combination, right? And that about sums up the experience of staying at this offshoot of the St. Giles Hotel (which finished up a massive, multimillion-dollar renovation in late summer of 2013). The rooms are among the largest I’ve seen in NYC (especially at this price point), and so are the soaking tubs in the oversized bathrooms. Sexy comes into play with the black-and-red color scheme (sounds tawdry, but it works) and the use of velvet and leather on the armchairs and headboards (again, it should be a bordello look, but it isn’t). Once you leave your room, there’s a free (and generous) continental breakfast awaiting you in the lobby, and a more-than-decent gym so that you, too, can look sexy.
