A lot of hotels claim to feel like a home away from home. But thanks to the fact that this actually was an apartment building in its first iteration—and the over-the-top kindliness of the staff—this one does so better than most. All the rooms are quite spacious and there are a number of different suite configurations, with such niceties as good-sized fridges, marble counters, and large windows. They’re also skillfully designed, with helpful space-saving measures—deep safes placed in bedside drawers, ironing boards and robes craftily tucked under the bed—so you don’t lose valuable closet room. I’d call the design scheme “quietly contemporary”: Think metallic wallpapers, net-like decorative curtains over the blackout curtains, and fine marble countertops. The hotel opened in late 2021 and is a wonderful new addition to the lodging scene.
