The cocktails here are as colorfully named as the bar itself—like the “Scallywag” which mixes five different types of rum (including a 75-year-old one) with two types of bitters, vanilla syrup, and “demarar” syrup; or the perfectly balanced “Mortal Enemy”, which blends Dorothy Parker gin with crème de cacao, black current cordial, absinthe, and fresh lime juice. They’re all works of liquid art, and can be enjoyed in a civilized fashion, as the bouncer at the door stops letting people in when all the seats are taken; and the music is more likely to be tango or Dixieland jazz than pop.
