This is New York City’s first distillery since Prohibition and through one large, glass wall of the bar, drinkers can see the giant vats where the owners are creating both gin and whiskey. Alan Katz is one of those co-owners and he was, for many years, the host of “The Cocktail Hour” on Martha Stewart radio, so you know the mixology here is world class (the drink menu changes with the seasons, but always includes liquors distilled on property). Ask nicely, and they’ll take you on a tour of the distillery.
