The Village Voice newspaper once called Panna II the “best unintentional art installation” in the city, which seems right. It’s a wacky-looking place. Over the years, the owners have covered every possible inch of this small restaurant with Christmas lights, chile lights, hanging beach balls, Hawaiian leis, and other kitsch, packing it so tightly that those over 5’8” have to duck to get a seat. Once inside you dine on solidly tasty and very affordable Indian food (it’s better than Milon next door, which stole the décor idea). And if you’re an Instagrammer, you’ll be in heaven here. Fun, fun, fun!
