On weekends, two lines snake down Prince Street in Soho: one for fab Prince Street Pizza and the other to enter this equally fabulous clothing store. On sale are finely crafted basics—blazers, jeans, t shirts, simple dresses, khakis, flats, scarves—made at ethical factories (ie places that offer fair wages, reasonable working hours and a healthy work environment). Miraculously, these natty duds are very reasonably priced, some at Uniqlo levels (like the t-shirts for $19). Everlane sells mostly online; this is one of only ten retail stores they operate nationwide. Tip: For a less frenetic shopping experience, go on a weekday.
