Beautifully situated down by the river, this two-story Georgian was built in 1817 as the first branch of the Bank of Canada. In 1902, it hosted the Prince and Princess of Wales, and today, it’s a charming bed-and-breakfast inn. Suites are tastefully done, each with its own en suite, and some have access to decks overlooking the water below. If you’re planning a romantic weekend away, you’ll love the Gallery Suite, with its cathedral ceiling, or the Pine Suite with its Jacuzzi tub. Breakfast is truly excellent: a multi-course affair with homemade cinnamon granola, freshly baked muffins, quiches, poached eggs, and more.
